Job Description: Mainframe System Programmer (MVS/zOS) - Senior Programmer Analyst
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mainframe System Programmer (MVS/zOS) as a Senior Programmer Analyst.
Technical Skills:
- Experience should have 3 to 5 years into Mainframe System Programmer (MVS/zOS).
- Monitor z/OS systems, job queues, JES2, and spool usage; perform daily health checks using SDSF and system commands.
- Handle incidents and job failures by collecting logs, analyzing errors, and raising or escalating tickets using ITSM tools.
- Understand and work with JCL, restart failed jobs or STCs, and follow runbooks for standard operations.
- Support IPL activities by verifying LOADxx, MSTJCLxx, and system logs; assist in identifying system initialization issues.
- Apply maintenance using SMP/E (RECEIVE, APPLY, ACCEPT); assist in resolving MODID or PTF-related errors.
- Update PARMLIB members, manage APF/LPA/LINKLIST libraries, and support product installs, DR, and license setups.
- Knowledge in REXX and Eazy-retrieves
- Should be flexible to work in shifts
- Should have good oral and written communication.

- Should be proactive and adaptive.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding of the MVS system architecture and z/OS environment.
- Hands-on experience with SMPE maintenance, product installs, and upgrades.
- Basic knowledge of IPL process and PARMLIB member usage.
- Ability to monitor jobs, STCs, and spool space using SDSF and system commands.
- Familiarity with change management and incident ticketing tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
- Communication with customer and producing the daily health/status reports.
