Job Description: Support Engineer – Lead Programmer Analyst (Exp: 5 Years to 8 Years)

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Support Engineer to join our team as a Lead Programmer Analyst.

Required Skills:

  • Experience should have 5 to 7 Years of support engineering.
  • Strong experience in Unix/Linux administration and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of Shell Scripting (Bash/Korn Shell).
  • Strong SQL skills, including joins, subqueries, data validation, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Control-M scheduling and batch job monitoring.
  • Good experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server / WebSphere Liberty.
  • Experience in application deployment, configuration, startup/shutdown, and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of application logs and production support processes.
  • Experience working in ITIL/production support environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding on the SDLC.
  • Understanding on the Agile methodologies.
  • Communication with customer and producing the Daily status report.
  • Should have good oral and written communication.
  • Should be a good team player.
  • Should be proactive and adaptive.

Good To Have Skills:

  • Experience with Java/J2EE applications.
  • Knowledge of WebSphere MQ / IBM MQ.
  • Exposure to CI/CD and deployment tools.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as AppDynamics, Splunk, Dynatrace, or similar.
  • Experience with incident, problem, and change management.
  • Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide L2/L3 production support for enterprise applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot applications running on WebSphere / WebSphere Liberty.
  • Perform Unix/Linux system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain Shell scripts for automation and operational activities.
  • Monitor and manage batch jobs using Control-M.
  • Troubleshoot Control-M job failures, dependencies, scheduling issues, and rerun jobs as required.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for data validation, troubleshooting, and issue analysis.
  • Analyse application logs and identify the root cause of production issues.
  • Perform application deployments, configuration changes, and restart activities.
  • Coordinate with development, database, infrastructure, and other support teams for issue resolution.
  • Handle incidents, service requests, and change requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Participate in production releases and provide post-deployment support.
  • Prepare and maintain operational documents, runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Participate in on-call and weekend support as required.
  • Identify repetitive operational activities and implement automation wherever possible.
